I went to a boot fair today. Amongst the finds was Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team for the Nintendo DS, and I picked up some knock-off multi-cart containing a handful of weird looking Pokémon games including what appears to be some kind of Pokémon Green translation. I doubt any of them support saving.
My brother scooped up a boatload of Pokémon Cards, and I managed to get a hold of a DVD of Pokémon The First Movie. I can't wait to talk about that, but that's going to be near the end of the first season, wherever the movie best fits in with the rest of the series.
But what does this have to do with the Pokémon cartoon, or more specifically, Challenge of the Samurai?
Nothing, so let's get on with it!
Oh yeah, it's Metapod by the way!

[#4] Challenge of the Samurai (Part 1)
This episode's recap goes all the way back to the beginning. It tells us about Ash, Pikachu, Pokémon Training and his journey up until this point. It's quite an in-depth recap, covering everything of merit from the first three episodes. It also goes to show how little story we've had so far.

[#3] Ash Catches A Pokémon (Part 2)
I've been playing Pokémon Ranger recently, and it's pretty much crippled the rest of my day because it's just so addictive. Between that and making the kitchen and living room spic-and-span, I've had very little time to myself. Now I finally do, let's get back to Pokémon.
Oh by the way, it's Caterpie.

[#3] Ash Catches A Pokémon! (Part 1)
Going through the Pokémon series again is fun for me. I like seeing all my favourite characters getting introduced, and watching them grow as they go on their Pokémon adventures. There's something relaxing about kicking down with something you used to know and love, and re-visiting it all over again.
So if you don't mind, I'm going to continue!

[#2] Pokémon Emergency! (Part 2)
So who's that Pokémon, sitting there? It's Koffing. We're about to get introduced to him, hold on to your seats.
[#2] Pokémon Emergency! (Part 1)
"Pokémon Emergency" is the episode that introduces Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy, James and Jessie of Team Rocket, and their trusty sidekick and "top cat" Meowth. In terms of plot, the episode has a different approach to the first; practically all of the action takes place in Viridian City, though more importantly, just the PokéCenter.

[#1] Pokémon I Choose You! (Part 4)
So Ash and Pikachu set off on their Pokémon journey, and... oh this is taking too long, isn't it.
Fast mode, activated.

Sure This Looks Genuine
Back when I was younger, I used to play a lot of ROMs. Back when I was impressionable, I actually thought that a lot of ROM hacks and transliterations and translations were official games. Even so, I always had my suspicions over Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Jade.
I Found Some Of Our Pokémon Cards
Pokémon Cards!
We used to have so many more than this. Binders and binders full of cards, I think we even completed some of the sets. But all I've been able to find are my brother's deck and my deck, all jumbled up in a mess. I'll read the rules over and try to mend these decks; but what's the point, his Dark Hypno is just going to annihilate me anyway if we ever tried to play this again.
[#1] Pokémon I Choose You! (Part 2)
So Ash is excited to become a Pokémon master, but should he be? Anyway, he needs to sleep and rest up ready for the big day when he finally receives a Starter Pokémon from Professor Oak!

[#1] Pokemon I Choose You! (Part 1)
The first episode of Pokémon could well be where I began watching the series from. I have a vague memory of playing the game before this, but I honestly can't remember which one I did first.
My memory isn't perfect. In actual fact, my memory is full of so many holes that if you put it in the sea it would just sink to the bottom.
But, I will try to remember. Because I want to remember.

Well Isn't Pokémon Popular Right Now
It's about time we re-visit Pokémon. Everyone else is right now so I'll do it too.
Welcome to the first post on "Pikachu Made Me Do It", a blog dedicated to my traipsing through old Pokémon media and getting all nostalgia'd. I'll be going through the television show once again, all the old and new games, sharing my thoughts on them now and how I felt as a kid when I played them many years ago.
